Building sandcastles. As the last remnants of summer wisp away, building sandcastles is not exactly the first activity on everyone's mind. Even as the leaves fall from the trees and the snow floats to the ground, Konami is betting that true sandcastle aficionados will be interested in this playful sport.
Sandy Beach is one of the few games that attempts to tackle the under-represented market for building virtual sandcastles. In this upcoming WiiWare title, you will be able to use the Wii Remote to form and detail a castle to your liking.
All the standard tools like buckets and shovels will be available to you when constructing your masterpiece. And if you find you lack sufficient inspiration, you can always call upon a friend to join you in your quest for the perfect palace on the beach. At any time during your castle's construction you can take commemorative photos for later viewing in your photo album.

So here we have these giant crabs. Hit the weak point for massive damage.
Once you complete the castle, you will get to test its metal... err... sand, as a defensive fortress. Crabs will rise up in revolt against their sandy overlords and attempt to storm your beloved creation. Arm your creation with as many cannon as you can muster, and pray that your strategic construction skills will hold up under the crustacean assault!

Arrgh, ye matey! Thar' be treasure in them beaches!
Each time you successfully defend your castle, you are rewarded with a stroll around the beach with a metal detector. You can use the metal detector to find such booty as treasure, decorations for your castle, and more cannon to arm yourself against the crab revolt. Viva la sandcastle!
(Le château de sable for those who actually speak French.)
Developed by Frozen Codebase, Sandy Beach is rated "E" for everyone by the ESRB and is scheduled to be released in Fall of 2008.
