Nintendo has finally listened to the fans tired of having to delete old Wii Channels from the Wii menu to just make room for new ones; a process commonly called "cleaning out the fridge" in the gaming community.
In their Game Devleoper's Conference keynote, Nintendo anounced the Wii Firmware 4 update that not only makes games runable from an SD card, it also enables games to be downloaded directly to the SD card. And say goodbye to the 2GB limit! The Wii will now be able to read SDHC cards.
The update puts an SD card icon on the bottom left hand corner of the Wii Menu, and clicking on said icon brings up the SD card Menu which looks very simmilar to the Wii Menu. Two-hundred and fourty channel slots are located here meaning that up to 240 games can be saved on a high capacity SD card.

Nintendo also announced a new system for the Virtual Console service. As of now, the Virtual Console will be home to a variety of arcade games! Today's launch includes:
- Starforce from Temco
- Gaplus from Namco
- Mappy from Namco
- The Tower of Druaga from Namco
