Sonic Unleashed - New Sonic Video and juicy Rumors

Well if this isn't a bit of good news for Sonic fans. Apparently there has been some leaked Sonic Unleashed released to the net today by SegaOn. This new footage showcases Sonic as he was originally (and dare I say, should have always been)...

In addition to the video, SegaOn made the following statement.

SEGA plans to show Unleashed at some Gamer’s Day event in May.
Unleashed is currently scheduled for a worldwide release in November, right before Christmas.

It seems not only Sonic Team is involved but a very huge part of SEGA’s developer teams including those from Japan, the US and, apparently for the first time, even Europe. There seems to be one clear mission: Rebuild the Sonic brand and prove it could work in 3D environments.

The early Sonic platformers were a hit so naturally a video with Sonic returning to his originally sideview (forced 2D) in a 3D environment looks awesome. Please don't be pulling our leg.

That looks brilliant Sonic is finally going back 2D in a 3D enviroment I hope it's only for WII (like secret rings) that would make ps3 owners really jealous. But with those graphics it must be muli-platformed.

Sonic and the secret rings wasnt that good for a sonic game, 2 of my friends who are sonic fans found it disappointing compared to the sonic games on dreamcast and megadrive.

Its not that the sonic brand isnt exactly destroyed or anything, just needs a bit of work done. Anyone remember the sonic flash game? It goes to show that on any platform, running fast is fun :P
