Nintendo DSi
Continuing our coverage from earlier this morning, here's a recap of Nintendo of America's press conference:
- The DS Shop channel will be called Nintendo DSi Shop
- Some of the first games available will be redesigned Brain Age games
- The DSi has two cameras. One on the inside hinge, one on the front. Photo manipulation software is included in the DSi.
- The DSi can be your music player as long as you keep your music in AAC format. (AAC is the standard that supersedes MP3s. It is supported by iTunes. However, you will need the non-DRMed songs if you want to play them on the DSi.)
- The DSi's playback capability will have filters and distorts. This allows you to, say, remove the vocals. Or lower the pitch of the voice. Or speed up playback to create your own Chipmunks. etc.
- The DSi will not be available in America until "Well into 2009"
- Running games off of the SD Card has not been confirmed. Instead, Reggie said that 'transferring games will become dramatically easier'.
- Punch Out Wii is confirmed for US release
- The Conduit will be available in Q1 2009
- Cammie Dunaway mentions that Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party is played with your butt. Which she calls "true innovaton". (Seriously?)
- Sin and Punishment 2 is confirmed for a US release in 2009
- Mario and Luigi 3 will reach the DS in 2009. Bowser is along for the ride.
- Wii Speak will come with a Wii Speak Channel that will allow you to chat with up to three other friends.
- Club Nintendo is coming to America!!! For those who are unfamiliar with this, Club Nintendo gets access to freebies, demos, exclusive games, discounts, and other great benefits. This is going to be awesome! Club Nintendo will debut at the end of the year.
