Profile: Galaxy Man [Mega Man 9]
September 21st, 2008 11:23 PM
Editor: jbanes

Weapon: Black Hole Bomb
Purpose: Navigator
Weakness: Concrete Shot

Galaxy Man represented the pinnacle of man's achievement. The ability to reach for the stars. To expand beyond the confines our home planet. To go where no man has gone before.

For years, Galaxy Man has calculated safe trajectories for human and robot rockets. He has been a steady and faithful servant. Now this poor robot has become a pawn in Wily's twisted game.

Is there any hope for this dear robot master? Perhaps not. But Mega Man will do everything he can to stop Galaxy Man from hurting anyone. It's the least he can do for this wretched brethren.

Did You Know?
Galaxy Man's artwork always depicts him with red eyes. Yet in his sprites and other media, he is always depicted with green or white eyes.

These spikes are a serious safety hazard to astronauts. Someone call OSHA!

So here's how this works. Speedy thing goes in one teleport, speedy thing comes out the other teleport with additional velocity. If that isn't a nod to Portal, I don't know what is.

Aw, the cute spaceman. He doesn't seem so tough.

Whoops! Spoke too soon! Ayiiiii!!!

This weapon generates a black hole. What can Mega Man do with a black hole?

As it turns out? Plenty. If you find yourself in a sticky situation, just fire up the Black Hole Bomb. The resulting singularity is so powerful that it will drag nearby enemies to their doom.

As a bonus, the Black Hole Bomb cleans up after itself. None of those messy robot parts strewn about. It is an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
