Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party

"Who's calling it a bathroom
scale now, Satoru!"

Earlier this Summer, we heard from Nintendo at E3 about the return of everyone's favorite Wii characters: the Rabbids!

Despite two previous appearances of the Rabbids on the Wii, this has not stopped Ubisoft from creating a third installment. This time they've decided to include support for an interesting new controller that has not seen much use yet: the Wii Balance Board.

The balance board will be used to add an exercise aspect to the game through specialized minigames. New minigames involve actions such as sitting, standing, and more importantly to Ubisoft, "using your rear end!"

A new game involving the wii balance board, called Beastie Boarding Tricks.

As the title suggests, this new adventure with the Rabbids will involve a week of television, with new minigames appearing each day of the week! As the story goes, the Rabbids have taken over the local television station and are broadcasting programming that appeals to THEM. And what appeals to a Rabbid more than... exercise?

Ok, not quite. The Rabbids are out to destroy our daily television viewing (as well as drive Rayman nuts) and to do this, they will broadcast shows, music, and commercials that feature Rabbids. These segments are actually cleverly disguised exercise minigames that make use of the balance board. Before you know it, you'll be sweating to the Rabbids!

Another interesting game in TV Party, known as Sky Surf.

According to Ubisoft, Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party will include over 65 new minigames. With the all new party mode, you can either play co-op or compete with your friends. Included are options for 4-player simultaneous play or 8-player turn based play. They also allow you to customize your Rabbid, with the ability to take a picture of it and send it to friends online. Combined with 8 types of gameplay and the ability to sabatoge your friends during a game, your living room may get a bit crazy!

Dance, sucka!

But did Ubisoft forget to put their Rabbids' usual need for funk? Not a chance. They have yet again included a new way to show the Rabbids' favorite styles of music. TV Party includes a new dance mode in which you will actually dance out your battles with controls that will make you feel like you're, well, dancing!

According to Ubisoft, you will be able to play using the Wii Remote and Wii Balance Board, so let's see what moves these Rabbids have got when we see Ubisoft's Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party come to the Wii console this Holiday season! (Holiday '08)
