Nintendo site redesign poses new Virtual Console questions
December 20th, 2007 11:42 PM
Editor: InsertCoin

The main purpose of the redesign has apparently been to display Wii games and classic titles delivered on Virtual Console more prominently on Nintendo's websites. However it appears and has been rumored that Nintendo has been making space (namely on the Nintendo of Japan website) for a few new Virtual Console systems, as seen in the image below. So we may see a few new consoles added to the Virtual Console system list before too long, which would be a great unexpected surprise... however for now thats purely speculation.

Nintendo Website redesign more Virtual Console systems on the way?

There are unfortunately a few downfalls to the redesign. Gamecube has basically been tucked away on Nintendos newly design websites. While its no secret that the Gamecube lacked the immense popularity that the Wii enjoys, there are a number of great games on the system that would appeal to new Wii owners. In addition, their search feature currently leaves much to be desired. One last gripe is that Nintendo's new game library page offers less view displays then in the past.

Apparently the sites are still undergoing updates, so these issues may only be temporary.
