Mario Super Sluggers

Developed by Namco Bandai, Mario Super Sluggers is the sequel to Mario Superstar Baseball which was for the Gamecube. Gameplay is similar to Wii Sports Baseball. You still swing the Wii Remote to hit the ball and wave your arm forward to pitch. What's different is the addition of new features like the ability to play the field and perform 'special shots' when hitting.

Anywhere from one to four players can pickup a Wii Remote to play. Three control methods are available: Wii Remote, Wii Remote and Nunchuk, and Wii Remote sideways. The latter eschews the motion sensing in favor of classic digital gamepad interaction.

The time that you play the game can be an important factor. The setting of where you play changes as it goes from day to night. For example, during the "day" you play in Bowser Jr's room, while at "night" you play in Bowser's castle. The game will feature a massive amount of characters. So far, 44 characters have been confirmed ranging from Goomba to King K. Rool and of course, the Mii.

The single player mode features something called Baseball Kingdom: A place where people can go to play Mini-games, Baseball related challenges, compete in exhibition matches, and unlock new characters. The mode will also feature a Home-run hitting contest.

The game is scheduled for release on August 25th.

I have no idea why, but I absolutely loved the Gamecube version. I beat the story mode several times and I sometimes still get the urge to play it. I'm definitely getting this :D.
