Awesome multiplayer gaming is what comes to mind when we hear of this classic multiplayer head to head racing game from Nintendo. Juicy details for Mario Kart Wii are finally floating around the net and we collected a good portion of them just for you. I would not consider any of these spoilers as you will find them out very quickly after getting into the game but to be safe just consider yourself warned... :P
Now for some of those juicy details promised previously...
Now as you may or may not know. Mario Kart comes bundled with an official Wii Wheel aka Wii Steering Wheel, which should come in handy for other racing games as well.
Mario Kart for Wii itself is able to be played with five different control schemes, including the Wii Wheel, Wii Remote turned on it's side, Wii Remote and Nunchuck, the Wii Classic Controller and Gamecube Controllers.
There are a total of sixteen new tracks which have been added, in addition to sixteen old tracks from previously released Mario Kart games. In the new Mario Kart 50cc races are comprised of kart's only, 100cc is for bikes only and 150cc lets you race any vehicle together. (Interesting configuration...).
"Multiplayer mode includes four-player local racing and eleven-player support using Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection service. Ten battle arenas will also be available."
A Wii Channel will also be launched alongside the game. Where players can monitor their ranking against other online players and access and share player ghost data.
"The Channel will also allow players to jump into friend's races, even if they're in progress, or simply be a spectator. Even better, Nintendo has hinted that it will run special events through the service."
Augh, too many upcoming channels! Why can't the Everyone's Wii channel come out in the US, ect, and we can use that for stuff like this. Or better yet, have the stat tracker embedded in the game!
