As of March 21, 2009, everyone's favourite handheld surpassed a major milestone when the Nintendo DS sold its 100 millionth unit after only 225 weeks on sale. This makes it the fastest to 100 million than any other console or handheld.

The 100 million shipped/sold club now has four members: the PS2 (137 million), the Game Boy (118 million), the Playstation (102 million) and now the DS.

The big three markets have pretty much split sales of the DS evenly with Japan at 26 million, North America at 33 million, and Europe at 41 million.
