Johnny, who is no stranger to creating interesting methods in which to incorperate the Wiimote, has designed a new concept demo. In this concept the Wiimote and the Wii Sensor Bar are reversed. The Wiimote being mounted in the center of the TV where the Sensor Bar typically sits, and the Wii Sensor Bar being mounted to the moving object, the gamer themselves. In using the Wiimote and Sensor Bar in this fashion, you are able to move and manipulate 3d items in a 2nd space.
This concept is first shown with a number of multiple height platforms displaying the distance and 3d effects. Secondly a wide football stadium is shown and the concept of how it could feel if you were looking out a window is demonstrated. Last but definitely not least, combining player 1 and player 2 WiiMotes, you can use one to track the player themselves and another for the same player to interact with the Wii. Showing how ducking and dogding in a game could have real meaning. This is nothing short of the most unique use of the Wii Controllers we have seen to date, and as Jonny requested to all game developers out there, "We wanna see some games!" using this awesome control input method.
In order to run the DesktopVR program you see in the video you will need the following items: 1. Connect your wiimote to your PC via Bluetooth. 2. Download the WiiDesktopVR sample program.
