Overview

The Sims 2: Pets allows players to create pets for their Sims to love and train, play with and take to the park. Create-a-Pet gives choice for players to mix, match and create the perfect dog or cat for their Sim. Cross mix dog breeds and customize your pets. The pets also have the ability to work in a variety of different careers including Show Business, Security and Service.

Central Park is the community center where you can interact with other Sims while shopping for various accessories for your beloved Sims pet. Be a veterinarian as you operate the town Pet Care Center! Gain status based on your Sims pet care skills, from performing examinations to healing, playing and training these lovely pets.

Features

Pets can follow one of three career paths: Security, Services and Showbiz. Pets can also be customized and breed mixed, even reflect your own personality characteristics.

Pets have three life stages: Puppy/Kitten (duration of five days), Adult (lasting 25 days for cats, small dogs and 21 days for larger dogs), lastly, Elder (which lasts 5-10 days). The length of a pet's elder hood is selected randomly, some aspiration reward object would extend the pet's life by a few days.

There is a supernatural creature that your Sim can become and interact with, known as Werewolves. Werewolves only live during night hours. The Werewolf can teach a pet faster than humans and also has the strength and ability to fight burglars. Don't be surprised if they sometimes howl at the moon, at your command or howl to summon wolves.

Sims are able to operate pet shops if they have the Open for Business expansion pack. There are new items with this pack such as a phone, Atomic Age themed furniture and items for pets exclusively.

"Build" mode features a new entertainment tool called "Sledgehammer," which can delete various items and allows you to create diagonal roofs and rotate floor tiles. In a similar way, the Build mode has the ability to drag diagonal rectangular rooms and also to drag out octagon rooms.

Stray animals as well as wolves, will occasionally wander onto lots. You can find an "encyclopedia of game tips" button located in the Options menu where to view all game tips. A Sims with high creativity skill points can, for example, paint art from the player's image collection.
