Overview

Mario and his friends once again take to the pitch in this second entry in the soccer series. In Mario Strikers Charged, two teams battle for the possession of a metallic ball. Teams are formed by combining one of twelve (12) captains with three (3) of eight (8) sidekicks before competing in one of the game's many modes. Players are allowed to use a variety of special abilities. Each captain has her or his own set of skills and super abilities, and also their own special shots called Mega Strikes, where the iron ball splits up into three (3) to six (6) individual shots which all fly toward the goal at a certain speed. Players defending must use the Wii Remote to target and aim at the ball and shoot these out of the goal surface. Each stadium in Mario Strikers Charged has various characteristics and obstacles, which will influence game play. Players must learn to use those characteristics to their advantage so they can dominate their opponents.

The game supports the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, through which players can participate in online matches and tournaments.
