
Overview
Mario Party 8 follows its tradition with social, strategic game play of board games and adds breaks for quick, action-oriented minigames. In the main mode, players can experience six board games in search of stars and coins, landing on spaces that are helpful or a hindrance. Several variations for these boards tweak the main goals to enhance game play for solo sessions and up to to four-player games. There are also minigames at the end of each round.

Six minigames with themes such as lassoing barrels (1 vs 1), shaking cans of soda pop (4 player), catching marbles in jars (1 vs 1), a flag-raising race (1 vs 1), jet skiing (4 player), shooting targets and a jump-rope game where three jump and one spins the remote to simulate turning.Tightrope walking minigame for which Wii Remote is held sideways and balanced.Minigames do an extensive use of the Wii Remote.More than 10 playable characters.Five (5) Modes: Party Tent, Minigame Tent, Fun Bazaar, Start Battle Area and Extras Zone.Six boards are in the game: DK's Treetop Temple, Goomba's Booty Boardwalk, King Boo's Haunted Hideaway, Shy Guy's Perplex Express, Koopa's Tycoon Town and Bowser's Warped Orbit.Each board has its own Special Golden "Lucky" Space, which are not seen on regular map.
