Overview

Ecco; The Tides of Time was the second game in the Ecco the Dolphin series, a sequel to Ecco the Dolphin for the Sega Genesis, Game Gear, and Sega CD. Ecco the Dolphin must battle the Vortex Queen and her hive of drones who followed Ecco back to Earth from the future. Defeat this alien threat by navigating the depths of sea, defeating enemies, solving puzzles, and receiving occasional help from his marine-mammal friends.

When Ecco used the time machine to save his pod, he split the stream of time in two. He must now restore the rift before the world is permanently changed into a mechanical world, sucked dry by the Vortex!

Features

  • New puzzles were added, such as following another dolphin around and a 'scavenger hunt' of sorts.
  • A couple pseudo-3D levels were also added.
  • The health meter, the air meter, and the Glyphs returned in Ecco: Tides of Time.
  • Both the "charge song" and the "confusion song" upgrades returned from Ecco the Dolphin.
