Game Review:
From 1999 Nintendo started to do Mario Party 1. Eight years later (2007) Nintendo make Mario Party 8. So that's my take:
So first i'll like to say, it's Nintendo's first game that doesn't match to 16:9 (Widescreen). As much I know, this hasn't happened since the days of GameCube and quite possibly with the previous Mario Party. However the menu and the title screen do run of 16:9.
Many boards can be found in Mario Party 8, framerate dips all the same. There's still the useless text, but the maximum you can do is speed it up. So you'll find yourelf pressing the A button.
You can find 5 modes: Party tent, Star battle arena, Minigame tent, Extras zone and Fun bazzar.
Party tent: Where you can pick a board and make the CPU level custom and pick a board. You can found DK's Treetop Temple, Goomba's Booty Boardwalk, Boo's Haunted Hideaway, Bowser's Warped Orbit and Shy Guy's Perplex Express.
Star battle: Battle duels VS random CPU's to get Blooper and Hammer brother. At the ending you'll get Bowser's Warped Orbit and fight Bowser.
Minigame tent: Play your minigames in diffrent modes.
Extras zone: Play minigames that you buy with your cards.
And the "Fun Bazzar": Buy stuff with your cards.
Mario Party 8 Have a simble gameplay: Choose a character, take to a game board and roll the virtual dice to progress, the end goal being to collect a star or multiple stars strewn about the stage. You'll land on mini-game challenges along the way and you'll pick up candy (Swich with orbs), will give your character special abilities. It's all mildly entertaining when you're playing it with friends, but even then it never approaches any level of greatness because we've seen what is more or less the same project seven times prior and because none of the previous outings were brilliant.
Many of the games in Mario Party 8 are fun, But most are boring: in "swing Kings", just swing your Wii Remote to swing the bat; Shoot a basketball by lifting the remote up and more boring stuff. You can bring your Miis to the party, too.

Presentation
The new minigames are fun and handful. As I said, you can bring your Miis to the party. Presentation is good.

Sounds
Some of the music are catchy and good, but characters voice is annoing, so that's really taking away some score.

Gameplay
Once again I say: "Choose a character, take to a game board and roll the virtual dice to progress, the end goal being to collect a star or multiple stars strewn about the stage." Noting special here.

Lasting Appeal
In spite of our issues with the game, people who loved Mario Party 7 will probably enjoy Mario Party 8, too. Fun.
