Team17 Software is a video game developer based in New Yorkshire, England. The company was founded in December 1990.

Team17 was originally called 17Bit Software (as in "that bit better than the rest") and started off on the Commodore Amiga home computer. The developer's first breakthrough success came in 1991, when it released the beat-em up Full Contact, followed by a slew of popular titles, including Alien Breed 1 and 2, Assassin, Project X, Superfrog and Body Blows.

After self-publishing a number of Amiga and PC titles, Team17 eventually partnered with now defunct Ocean Software and expanded onto console platforms, including PlayStation, Saturn, Atari Jaguar, CD32, Phillips CDi, Megadrive/Genesis, Super Nintendo, Game Boy and Virtual Boy. In 1995, Team17 released the first installment in the long-running Worms franchise, and has since developed for every major platform on the market.
