Harmonix has been financed by Acer Technology Ventures, Collaborative Seed and Growth Partners, and SOFTBANK Investments. In 2006, Harmonix was acquired by MTV Networks, bringing its strong music gaming development talents to MTV's music-based universe of entertainment, news, gaming, and interactive content offerings.
